C R Park, Delhi’s ‘Mini Bengal’ to get the 1st School of Football Excellence in the city

Manish Sisodia, Deputy Chief Minister, Delhi identified the area available within the campus of the SPM Sarvodaya Vidyalaya at C R Park and instructed the Education Department to initiate the plan for a high-end football ground in the school.


New Delhi,12 June, 2019, Wednesday: Manish Sisodia, Deputy Chief Minister, Delhi announced the construction of a state-of-the-art football ground in Chittaranjan (CR) Park, a statement said. As part of his daily morning inspection to the Delhi government schools to review the progress made in the construction of classrooms, installation of CCTV cameras and solar panels in various schools of South Delhi, the minister visited SPM Sarvodaya Vidyalaya in CR Park and said that the football ground will be created to utilise the vast empty space.

In the school, 164 classrooms are being built by the Public Works Department (PWD). While discussing the plan, he identified the expanse of land available within the campus and instructed the Education Department to initiate the plan for a high-end football ground in the school. According to the statement, the popularity of football in CR Park, not merely to watch, but as a sport to play is well known by all.

A veteran football fan in C R Park also echoed the same as he mentioned “ Bengali’s obsession for football is well known. It is a good news for the football lovers of C R Park , the mini Bengal in Delhi and its neighbourhood. Moreover , the young generation in the locality will get an excellent sports facility. Sports helps build the future nation.”
